Republicans in Congress want troops withdrawn from Iraq, but they don’t want it to happen until after President Bush leaves office - and they’ve put forward a bill to that effect. Not sure why this is the case. Democrats are saying the post-election timing are making it a political issue, and that it shouldn’t be. They also say it doesn’t have a chance of passing.

Well, if voters polled in California are any indication of the wishes of the entire country, we may be looking at a Hillary Clinton vs. Rudy Giuliani match-up in the 2008 presidential election. I’m not real happy about either of these choices, to be honest. Of course, the election is still over a year away, so who knows what will happen before then.

John McCain, senator and candidate for the Republican nomination for president, said in an interview with Beliefnet that he would prefer a president that shares his Christian faith. He did say, however, that he would vote for a Muslim if he felt that person was the right person for the job. No word, though, on whether he’d vote for a Mormon.

NBC’s hit comedy Scrubs is due to bow out this season, and fans are hoping for a satisfying series finale. They may not get it, though, if the writer’s strike continues. The show’s creator Bill Lawrence said he refused to write a back-up finale in case they had to end the show sooner than expected due to the strike. He wants the show to end properly, and he also said he will try to air a proper finale - even if it doesn’t happen until next year.
